How the cloud is built

The tool counts how many times each word occurs and gives the frequent ones a larger typeface. An article, an essay, meeting notes or a pile of pasted answers all work as input. Generation happens in the browser and the result can be regenerated instantly with a different layout.

Filtering out the noise

So the picture is not filled with conjunctions and pronouns, you can switch on a stop-word list and add your own words, separated by commas. A separate switch drops every word shorter than three letters. Without these filters the least meaningful words usually dominate.

Styling and download

Nine colour schemes are available, plus a choice of font and word direction — horizontal, vertical or random. The finished picture downloads as a PNG for a slide deck or as an SVG that stays sharp even on a large poster, and it can be opened on its own page for showing from a projector.
