Word search generator

Enter your words and get a finished word search to print or solve on screen. From the same word list the tool can generate up to 50 different variants, so people sitting next to each other do not get identical sheets.

Building the grid

Add a title and the words — one per line. Grid size can stay automatic or you can set width and height yourself. Three switches control difficulty: whether words may partly overlap, whether they may run diagonally and whether they may run backwards. The same vocabulary can therefore serve a beginner and an advanced learner.

Printing and variants

The grid can be copied as text or as an image, saved as an image file and printed. Set the number of variants and the tool prints several different layouts, each on its own page — handy when the same task goes to a whole class. The solution can be copied or saved separately.

A digital version with a link

When paper is not needed, create a digital version: you get a share link, and whoever opens it solves the grid straight in the browser. The same link works on a computer, tablet and phone, so the task can also be set as homework.
